		<description>hmmm... i guess it&#039;s a toss up.  while it would be great to earn a degree in three rather than four years, i wonder if there is something lost by not being able to take some gen.eds.  granted, some of them are really dull and boring but are just required as part of the curiculum, but they are also a good way to see and learn about other fields and get a better sense of what one might want to do as a career....</description>

		<description>I&#039;m not sure if this is exactly the case in Ireland as well, but in Britain, students are prepared in their subject in high school before going on to college, so while their degrees only last for three years, the students come in at a higher level than US undergraduates do.  We usually consider the year 1 courses to be equivalent to 200-level classes here in the States, for example.
